A man has been arrested in connection with more than 50 thefts of baby formula from stores in Broward and Palm Beach counties, authorities said Tuesday.
Kenneth L. Jones Jr., 37, is facing organized retail theft charges, according to Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators allege Jones stole baby formula from major retailers including Publix, Target and Walmart between November 2024 and May 2025. Most of the incidents occurred at stores in Palm Beach County, though some were reported in Coral Springs.
Authorities said Jones used reusable shopping bags or plastic containers to collect cans of baby formula, then left the stores without paying.
The thefts resulted in more than $70,000 in losses, officials said. Publix called it the largest baby formula theft operation the company has encountered.
