A Hialeah woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of more than $8,000 worth of meat and seafood from a Publix supermarket in the Florida Keys, authorities said.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Yirelys Dominguez, 35, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with grand theft and making a false report or knowingly providing false information to law enforcement.
Deputies said Dominguez defrauded the Publix store in Islamorada out of $8,364 worth of meat and seafood in March.
Investigators said her arrest is part of a broader probe involving the use of stolen credit cards to purchase tens of thousands of dollars in meat and seafood from the same store on multiple occasions.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests may be forthcoming.
