A Miami man has been arrested after police said he stole medical equipment from Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Marcos Andre Borque, 38, was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with grand theft of emergency medical equipment, according to Miami-Dade jail records.
An arrest report said hospital staff told authorities that Borque was seen attempting to steal medical equipment and hide it in a black book bag.
Police said Borque left the hospital before being stopped by a detective as he arrived at his home.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for his vehicle and found three medical devices inside a black book bag in the back seat, the report said. The equipment, marked with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital decals, is used to administer medication to patients.
Borque was booked into jail and is expected to appear in bond court on Wednesday.
