Taylor Swift has officially unveiled her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, following a wave of cryptic teasers across her social media channels.
For weeks, fans speculated a new “era” was coming after Taylor Nation posted a carousel of 12 orange-themed Eras Tour photos on Instagram with the caption, “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’” Meanwhile, the New Heights podcast—hosted by Swift’s partner Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason—hinted at a special guest appearance with an Instagram silhouette graphic against an orange backdrop. A countdown timer in the same shade appeared on Swift’s website, set to expire at 12:12 a.m. EDT.

At midnight, Swift confirmed the news in a New Heights clip. “So I wanted to show you something,” she said, opening a mint-green case with her initials embossed in orange and pulling out a blurred-out record. “This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”
The album cover, tracklist, and release date remain under wraps. However, vinyl, CD, cassette, and poster pre-orders are already available on Swift’s website, with shipping expected before Oct. 13 (though that isn’t necessarily the release date).
This project marks Swift’s first new album since securing the rights to her master recordings from Shamrock Capital in May. Since then, she’s continued re-releasing earlier albums as “Taylor’s Version,” holding off on some like Reputation and her debut until the “right time.”
