Two Arrested in Miami for Fatal New Jersey Street-Racing Crash

A TikTok video surfaced last week showing two individuals linked to a deadly street-racing crash in New Jersey being extradited after their arrest in Miami.

Authorities say 20-year-old Alvi Limani of Staten Island was allegedly driving recklessly while racing on the Garden State Parkway on June 29. His BMW collided with two other vehicles before rolling over multiple times.

Limani’s passenger, 20-year-old Albion Hysenaj, also from Staten Island, died after being ejected from the vehicle. Another passenger was also ejected and sustained serious injuries; they were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Limani faces multiple charges, including:

  • First-degree aggravated manslaughter
  • Second-degree vehicular homicide
  • Second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death
  • Third-degree causing death while driving with a suspended license
  • Two counts of third-degree endangering an injured victim
  • Two counts of third-degree endangering another
  • Third-degree tampering with public records

Vilma Vneshta, 42, Limani’s mother, was charged with third-degree hindering.

Emily Harrington, 19, also from Staten Island and a passenger in the vehicle who allegedly fled the scene with Limani, was charged with third-degree hindering, fourth-degree obstruction, and fourth-degree conspiracy to endanger another.

Jeter Ogando, 23, of Perth Amboy, who is accused of driving another vehicle involved in the street race, faces second-degree vehicular homicide, third-degree endangering another, and fourth-degree assault by auto.

Investigators say Limani and another passenger who was not ejected fled the crash site. Officials later determined Limani fled to Miami with his mother while attempting to leave the country. Both were arrested on July 17 in Miami and are awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

A video posted on TikTok by user @Jhongb85 showed a heavy police presence at a New York airport as Limani and Vneshta were escorted into a police vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact the Holmdel Station Criminal Investigation Office at 732-441-4500, ext. 7425, or the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-3140.
